Here’s another ten shows to add to your watch list!
Fresh Meat
When this first came out I was still a year or two away from heading to University myself, so a show all about this elusive life stage instantly appealed to me. Since then I have come out the other side and graduated and I have to say the show remains a pretty accurate representation of British University life.
From awkward flatmates parties to late night assignments, Fresh Meat takes these relatable moments and turns up the comedy dial. I was genuinely rather emotional when the series finally ended in 2016, as it coincided with the year I graduated. I have reached for the box-set a number of times, and each re-watch remains painfully funny.

3% popped up on my Netflix recommendations a few years ago and I quickly became addicted to the show.
With strong Hunger Games vibes, The 3% is a masterpiece of world-building. It is clever and gripping, while keeping its heart along the way.

Casual
Casual is an incredibly charming comedy drama that centres around a woman and her teen daughter needing to move in with her brother in LA. The siblings have to band together, as the family all get used to their new life situations, and grapple with their pasts.
It’s laugh out loud funny, while also being very emotional at times too. It hits the right balance in a way sit-com’s like these rarely does.

Underground
Underground tells the intense, but gripping, story of a group of slaves escaping and going ‘underground’. This show is beautifully shot and wonderfully acted, an incredible story told well.

Bluestone 42
A comedy about the British army in Afghanistan isn’t something I expected to enjoy. Starring Matthew Lewis, among other top British actors, this is the side to the military I haven’t seen before… and it is a lot of fun.
I don’t know how accurate it is, but it still feels realistic. The dynamics of the group are a lot of fun, and there’s a certain black humour to an army comedy that I can’t help but like.

Glitch
An Australian drama about people coming back to life! This is one captivating show with so much potential for drama. I love the varieties of the people that ‘came back’ and the flashbacks from their lives.
Things are complicated when the protagonist police man’s wife returns from the dead. A few years after he has married her best friend. Emotions run high and the mysteries grow as the characters try to work out what the heck is going on.

The Wrong Mans
This show is a comedy gem and deserves so much more recognition! It is a gloriously fun ride as these two perfectly normal guys get dragged into something completely abnormal. Laugh out loud funny and stuffed full of talent, this BBC comedy series is a must watch.

Black Sails
For anyone missing Game of Thrones, Black Sails is the perfect show for you. This has it all – action, romance, drama – and with pirates thrown in!
There is actually so much more depth to the show than first meets the eye. By the end of the first season I was completely hooked, and it only seems to get better and better as time goes on. Unravelling the layers of each character is part of the fun as the world of pirates meets life and death consequences.

UnREAL
For fans of reality TV and behind-the-scenes-drama, you have to watch UnREAL. In a world were The Bachelor and Love Island dominates our screens, have you ever stopped to wonder what is really going on when the camera stops rolling.
UnREAL shows it all, and it is both hilarious and heartbreaking in its honesty. Constance Zimmer and Shiri Appleby lead the show and it is so great to see two powerful women absolutely own every scene.

The Bold Type
For an ultimate feel-good show, The Bold Type can do no wrong. This show is about three twenty-somethings dealing with female friendship, career struggles and romance.
Not one to shy away from controversies, issues such as mental health, LGBTQ, abuse, and more are tackled and done so with complete grace. Ultimately, it is a lot of fun, and never fails to put a smile on my face when I’m down.
